A live map built by hunters: spot a monster in the game, pin it in the app. Set an alert and your phone buzzes when a hunter near you reports your target.
Free to use, free to contribute. By hunters, for hunters — every pin is typed in by a person who was standing there.
There is no official spawn map. Elder Dragons are untrackable in-game. The lobby has no browser and no schedule. So hunters built the missing part for each other.
Species, grade, exact location, despawn time. Sightings expire with the daily reset, so the map is never stale.
"Spotted something? Pin it for the next hunter."
Filter by species, element, weakness, habitat, breakable parts, or grade. When a hunter near you pins your target, you'll know.
"Your phone buzzes: Mizutsune, 800 m away, despawns in 40 minutes."
Post the hunt on the monster. Invite by handle. One-tap yes or no, with distance. Fire it when the squad is real.
"You organize the hunt here. You hunt in the game."
Dev here. I play Monster Hunter Now the same way you do: walking around hoping the monster I need is somewhere in the neighborhood, and hosting lobbies that die while I wait for a fourth.
The fix the community came up with is megathreads, friend-code spreadsheets and Discord pings. Those work, sort of. I wanted something with a map and a push notification, so I built one.
Every pin is typed in by a person who was standing there. The app never touches the game. It works because hunters feed it, which is why using it and contributing to it are free.
It's new. The map starts empty. The first pin in your town could be yours — if you try it, pin one monster on your next walk. That's how the map gets good.
The game has no lobby browser and no scheduling, and a dead lobby costs you the cooldown. HHN invites are deterministic: you pick the handle, they get the push, they answer in one tap with their distance shown.
Honest answer: only if hunters there have started pinning. A sighting map is only alive where people feed it, so cities come online one community at a time — and yours starts the day a few of you decide to be its first reporters.
Five or ten regulars from your local group or city Discord is enough to make a map worth opening. Say hi in the HHN Discord and I'll set up a channel for your metro.
Gathering nodes and biomes stay put, so they fill in fast. Monster sightings come and go with the daily reset — one pin per walk from each of you is plenty.
Once enough pins land, the map stops being a thing you check and becomes a thing that buzzes at you. That's the point where hunts start filling too.
HHN is not a reference site and does not try to be one. For stats, damage math and build theory, the community already has excellent free tools — keep using them. HHN is for what's standing near you right now.
Not shipped yet. Listed so nobody has to guess what the app does today.
